Travelling in Batam & Bintan

As Australian school holidays take place during the summer months (December – February), this tends to be the busiest time of year to travel. Generally, summers in Australia are hot with temperatures reaching above 30 degrees in the north. Make sure you pack lots of sun cream if travelling around this time of year!

March to May and September to November (Autumn and Spring) are tourist shoulder seasons in Australia, with temperatures during the day remaining warm with cooler weather during the nights.

Weather during the winter months (June – August) varies depending on where you are in the country. Up north, you can expect mild, sunny days. While, down south, temperatures often get below 0.

Australia is an incredibly diverse country and is home to many different cultures and communities. From laidback attitudes, a real love of nature and sports to the diverse traditional Aboriginal way of life and the strong spirit of mateship, Aussie culture is undoubtedly one of kind.

Australia is a safe country for travelling in. If you do fall ill during your travels, the standard of hospitals and health care is high.

In Australia, the powerpoints use a 10 amp plug with two flat 1.6mm blades, set at 30 degrees to the vertical, making an upside down ‘V’ shape.

Haggling is generally not done in Australia, as prices are fixed. The Australian dollar is the only accepted currency.

Australian and New Zealand citizens don’t need a visa to holiday in Australia. We do strongly recommend travel insurance while travelling, because the real magic of travel happens when you’re worry free.
