TRIP ITINERARY
Day 1
Tuesday, May 21st
On Tuesday, May 21st, enjoy a Traditional Javanese Afternoon Tea at The Rotunda from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Delight in a curated selection of traditional delicacies crafted from time-honored recipes, infused with aromatic Javanese basil. This serene experience is set against the breathtaking backdrop of Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a perfect blend of cultural heritage and refined indulgence.
Day 2
Wednesday, May 22nd
On Wednesday, May 22nd, begin with a serene Chanting and Robe Offering Ceremony at The Art Room (4:00 pm – 5:00 pm), where monks will recite sacred chants and guests can participate in the meaningful tradition of offering robes.
At 6:00 pm, join an insightful Lecture on Buddha’s Enlightenment & Nirvana at The Library, led by Amanjiwo’s Resident Anthropologist, Patrick Vanhoebrouck, exploring Borobudur’s significance, Javanese spirituality, and the life of Buddha.
Conclude the evening with a Vesak Dinner and Traditional Dance Performance at 7:30 pm, featuring dishes inspired by Javanese cuisine. A portion of proceeds will support Veluvana Vihara Monastery.
Day 3
Thursday, May 23rd
On Thursday, May 23rd, participate in a Walking Procession from Mendut Temple to Borobudur Temple (3:00 pm – 6:00 pm), joining Buddhists in a sacred journey carrying the dharma fire and blessed water. The procession concludes with a symbolic burial at Borobudur, representing spiritual transcendence during Vesak.
Later, at 9:00 pm, witness the Lantern Release at Borobudur Temple, a captivating tradition where participants release lanterns into the night sky, symbolizing hope, peace, and enlightenment amidst the majestic stupas of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 4
DEPARTURE - TRANSFER AIRPORT
After checking out from the hotel, you will be transferred to Adi Sumarmo Airport for your departure. This concludes our tour. Thank you for traveling with us, and selamat jalan! Wishing you a safe and pleasant journey ahead.
