Belitung is an island on the east coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. The island is known for its pepper and for its tin. The main tourist destinations are beaches and offshore islands/islets, whiches have crystal clear blue water, white sand, and huge rock in the island.
As Australian school holidays take place during the summer months (December – February), this tends to be the busiest time of year to travel. Generally, summers in Australia are hot with temperatures reaching above 30 degrees in the north. Make sure you pack lots of sun cream if travelling around this time of year!
March to May and September to November (Autumn and Spring) are tourist shoulder seasons in Australia, with temperatures during the day remaining warm with cooler weather during the nights.
Weather during the winter months (June – August) varies depending on where you are in the country. Up north, you can expect mild, sunny days. While, down south, temperatures often get below 0.
