Arrival at the international airport in Medan. Upon arrival at Medan International Airport, your driver will take you to your Medan hotel.

BATH WITH ELEPHANTS – JEEP RIDE TO BUKIT LAWANG
After breakfast, you can wash and bathe the park rangers’ elephants along with the mahout (elephant guide) in the nearby river. Afterwards, head to Tangkahan with your guide on a first two-hour hike into the jungle. Then, take a jeep in about 3 hours towards Bukit Lawang, on the other side of the national park, known for its orangutan rehabilitation programs. Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge or exploring the small village of Bukit Lawang on foot.
JUNGLE TREKKING BUKIT LAWANG – OVERNIGHT IN A TENT
After breakfast, head to Gunung Leuser National Park on a 6-hour hike in search of orangutans and other wild animals. In the late afternoon, you’ll find a suitable spot on the river with your guide, where you’ll set up camp for the night. Spend the night in a simple tent in the middle of the rainforest, where your guide will cook you a delicious dinner.
JUNGLE TREKKING BUKIT LAWUNG
After breakfast at your camp, continue on a 4-hour trek through the jungle. Your jungle trek ends at a river where you’ll cruise back to your hotel on a tire in about 20 minutes. In the afternoon you can relax in your lodge or cool off in the river.
YOGYAKARTA CITY TOUR – PRAMBANAN TEMPLE
After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to the jungle and your journey continues to Berastagi in the highlands of the Karo. The drive to Berastagi takes about 5 hours through the breathtaking nature of Sumatra with a view of the two volcanoes Sibayak and Sinabung. Berastagi is located at about 1300 meters and thus has a much cooler climate of the Gunung Leuser National Park. Along the way, visit Mary Annai Church and Lumbini Park, where the Buddhist Shwedagon Pagoda from Myanmar was recreated. Before heading to the hotel in Berastagi, visit one of the many local fruit markets where you can stock up on fresh exotic fruits.
SIBAYAK – BERASTAGI – TRANSFER TO LAKE TOBA
Today, after breakfast, you’ll head to Sibayak Volcano with your guide. The ascent to the volcano Sibayak (2172m) is relatively easy and takes only about an hour from the parking lot. On the way back, relax your muscles with a hot bath in the hot springs of Raja Berneh. In the afternoon, travel with your driver to Medan. Along the way, you’ll stop at Dokan, a traditional Batak Karo village with traditional Batak houses. Afterwards you will visit the Sipiso Piso waterfall. In the afternoon you will reach Parapat, from where you will take a ferry in 45 minutes to the island of Samosir in the middle of Lake Danau.
